Hello! My name is Lindsay Campa and I am a Registered Massage Therapist, Certified Bodyworker and Therapeutic Yoga Teacher, living in the Cowichan Valley.
I have been studying the human body and how it moves for over 2 decades; through yoga, dance, movement and through many training programs including anatomy and Kinesiology. I have applied this learning as a Certified Massage Practitioner and Rebalancing Bodyworker for over 15 years, a Yoga Teacher for 10 years, and recently as a Registered Massage Therapist and Therapeutic Yoga Teacher since 2010.
In my private practice, I have experience working with those recovering from injuries, in remission from cancer, currently dealing with cancer, and various types of pain in the body. Massage Therapy can also aid in stress reduction, and help the body relax. Deep Tissue and myofascial techniques work on many levels to realign and free the body from ineffective habit patterns.
I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, and have been practicing and studying many styles with many teachers for the past 19 years. My style of teaching became ‘Therapeutically focused“, after studying the body for many years and suffering various injuries along the way. It has become very clear to me that as yoga was truly supportive as a healing modality, the intent and application of yoga is most important. The journey now of Yoga Therapy is one of slowing down, and more deeply tuning into the body experience. The educational aspect is particularly what I love about this path of yoga; it empowers each of us through our own experiential learning in the body. The specific intent is to remain safe in the postures, improve our functional movements, and optimize the most healing and benefit of them. The premise is that we are all in some type of recovery, whether from injury or stress and to offer very intentional yogic postures and philosophy to assist each individual. Application of Yoga Therapy is such that it can assist with Back Care (Back Pain), a Shoulder injury and recovery, pre-and postnatal yoga requirements, in a one on one or group learning environment.
